3 Days Tour in tirana,Vlora and Saranda

Visit the Capital city of Albania to see closely how the country has changed from 50 years of communism to something completely different.Then move to the southside in Vlora and the last day in Saranda.

Day 1

Take the ferry from Corfu  to Saranda – Albania. Departure at 09:00 local Greek time. Arrival 08:40 local Albanian time.(Albania  is one hour later than Greek time).

Passport check in.
Drive to visit Ancient City of Butrint one of the best preserved archaeological sites of the Mediterranean area. Walking through this by UNESCO protected national park, you can see that the Greeks, the Romans, the Byzantines and the Venetians have left their traces. Highlights are the theatre, which is still used as such a few times a year and the baptistery.

As we  leave Saarnda drive to Vlora City passing from the coast site villages, visit to the old village of Dhermi and  the old  Castle of Himara. After an optional lunch in Himara on way visit the Castle of Palermo and arrive from  the National park of Llogora photo break, from the point we could see the Adriatic & Ionian sea, round 1000 m vertical from the sea level.

Than drive to Vlora and overnight there.

Day 2:

Drive north to Tirana on way visit  Ardenica Monastery (build in 12 C )  after  drive to Berat. . (the city of One thousand and one windows, part of UNESCO family). Walking tour of the old town and visit Onufri icon museum, the castle and the ethnographic museum. Lunch on Berat (km 105). After lunch drive to Tirana  passing through Durres City visiting old fortes and Romans Arena .

Day 3:

Depart from Tirana overnight in Saranda

Leave the hotel early in the morning make the tour of town if the time promise visit Ethem Bey Mosque one of the oldest in Albania and the most famous.

On way back to Saranda visit Gjirokaster 230 km Starting  the tour of Gjirokastra . Gjirokaster is a fascinating and historic small town listed on UNESCO’s World Heritage list. Largely medieval, with some lovely architecture to admire, reflecting the town’s wealthy past, it is built on a hill overlooking the surrounding valley and mountains.

On arrival at the village, you will visit the large medieval Castle on the top of the hill dating back to the 4th cent. AC, later used as a local fort by the troops of Ali Pasha, the ruler of the region during Ottoman times.  The castle also houses a museum with weapons & armory from medieval times, as well as from the I & II World Wars.  .End of the tour

Drive south to Saranda km 60. On way visit National park of Blu eye spring and late afternoon arrive in Saranda .
